The TV industry press release service - FAQ

How can you guarantee our story will get coverage?

We can’t. But our 25 years experience and daily contact with the TV trade media gives us a pretty good idea of what will interest media and what won’t. We’ll only agree to take on your story if we think we can get coverage for you.

And if we don’t we’ll refund your payment within 24 hours of distribution - no questions asked

Is PRBuzz.TV an automated service?

No - all our consultations, press release drafting, ‘selling in’ and distribution processes are handled by your own account manager who will be your contact to guide you through the process.

Do you need me to provide contact details for all third party approvals?

If you choose the Majestic or Carlton package - yes. But you’ll need to contact all parties before we start work to get agreement in principle from all parties that everyone is happy to proceed. We’ll pick it up from there.

How far in advance of news publication do we need to do our Zoom call?

Assuming all parties involved have agreed to the press release then we can build a PR buzz for you in under 48 hours - subject to all your partners swift approval of the press release.

What about feature articles? Can you generate these for us as well?

Yes we can - but thought leadership activity like that will need to be part of a broader strategic campaign with Boom! PR

I want to choose the Majestic/ Carlton package, but I don’t have any images. Can the press release go out to media without?

Yes it can. We can discuss alternative image ideas on our Zoom call.

How quickly do I get my money back if you don’t secure any coverage?

We will process any refunds within 24 hours of the press release distribution in the event that we don’t generate any coverage.

What’s a digital clippings book and how do I access it?

It’s where we collate all your clippings online. You can access all your clippings even if you don’t subscribe to some publications.

Does your team attend the content markets (once they’re back up and running)?

Yes - we attend most of the major markets. As soon as they come back we’ll be there on the ground.

I have third parties involved in my press release. How does that work?

We suggest that before we speak on Zoom that you get permission in principle from the other parties so we can handle the drafting and clearance process smoothly.

How much of my time will the process will take up?

If you choose the Splendid plan, you’ll need to draft the release and obtain all the clearances yourself so that will differ depending on your partners. Once you order the Splendid or Carlton options, we’ll just need to have a short call to determine the key points in the story. After that we’ll just need your comments on the press release draft and a quote from your spokesperson. We handle everything else.

I know a journalist at a publication already. Why don’t I just send directly to them?

Of course you can do that. The benefit of PRBuzz.TV is that we are in daily contact with over 200 industry journalists so we can probably get your story much wider coverage and get more people talking about your content. Plus we understand editorial deadlines and how and when to present your news in an optimal way. Journalists get hundreds of press releases a day - using PRBuzz.TV will help your story stand out.

Is it possible to send my press release out further than just TV trade industry media?

Yes. The Carlton package includes premium distribution via the Press Association wire service. Plus we will also send it your release to any additional journalists as required.

Will my company name be in the headline?

That is something we cannot guarantee. The most influential publications are editorially independent and compile articles in their own style. They do not simply copy and paste press releases. If having your name in a headline is crucial to you, you may be better buying advertising instead.

I have a last minute change in my press release - and it needs to be amended 10 minutes before its issued? Is this ok?

Yes you can change the press release right up until it is sent. However, we time each press release distribution for maximum impact - so if any last minute changes mean a delay in our distribution, this could have an impact on the range of media coverage your story generates.

If a journalist contacts me to clarify a point on the press release should I direct them to you or answer the query myself?

You can - but we’d advise that It’s best for us to handle any queries directly relating to the press release we are working on. We will clarify any point raised with you and communicate this to the journalist.

In the Splendid package what does standard distribution mean?

We still send your release to exactly the same number of journalists at the same publications as the Majestic and Carlton packages. But those packages have priority in when they are distributed. So at a busy market that might mean your story might not get coverage until later in the event, depending how many press releases journalists are receiving.

Does the 100-word limit in the Splendid package include the title?

Yes. If you use this option you need to be focused on the content of your press release.

Where will my press release go?

Your press release will go directly to the inboxes of the most influential TV industry journalists in the world. We have a constantly updated database of over 300 specialist industry journalists, manually developed over a decade to ensure your story reaches all the key TV industry publications. If you choose the Carlton option we’ll also send it out via the Press Association wire.

What is the Press Association wire?

Using the Press Association wire service via the Carlton package ensures your press release is delivered into the news rooms of every national, major regional newspaper, TV and radio station across the UK and Ireland. That means your story will be accessible by journalists and businesses who access the Press Association news wire online. It also means your story is submitted using the same coding as Press Association's and the media's own editorial copy, making it easy for journalists to drop releases into their pages for editing.

What is the SEO boost?

As part of the Carlton package we will also give your press release an SEO boost, getting your story and images indexed in Google search and news results for additional online visibility that can also help your website climb up the search rankings.
